How goes the volunteer recruitment? I'm sorry I can't be of more help, am geographically challenged--currently not in Hawaii. Is it a matter of promotions/getting the word out?

It seems there would be problems with assigning fines to the proper party, but frankly the dumping has gotten out of control. Even cities with higher density populations don't have the problems that Makiki seems to have.

What do you hope to gain from joining Makiki Talks?
Community and conversation. New ideas and views on Makiki. Although I grew up here, I've been away for a few years and am learning to connect with what I see as a new urban landscape and a variety of new/old communities. I want to see the best, understand the worst, and figure out where I can be in all of that.

The Iphone and PC should connect as effortlessly as the Mac did but Windows some times is difficult. I will try to put together a procedure to manually search and connect with a PC. Sorry I do not have an Iphone and can not help with that.
Glad that the service worked well for you

Aloha Berna,

Mahalo for stopping by my page. Itʻs been a while since Iʻve been down at the capitol... probably.. back in April was the last time I was there, other than a quick/brief meeting with Brian Taniguchi about two weeks or so ago. Anyway, Iʻll definitely let you know when Iʻm in the area again.

Are you an office manager at the capitol? If so, I know Ainoa Naniole and Jon Ching. I donʻt know if you know those two guys. They participated in a program I helped create http://tr.im/HuliLSAT1 Let me know if you ever consider law school.

Anyway, Have a great week and keep up the good work.

Hey Berna- thanks for being more than helpful with the tech tips! I think my main problem is a lack of "me time" needed to check into everything that requires me to think and type at the same time. I have actually been playing around with Makiki Talks a bit tonight, and it is pretty self-explanatory, even to me! What with email, this, and the new Board site, there's a lot of places for me to keep up to date with. I find myself logging in, then, 2 hours later, after many interruptions, I have finally finished what I wanted to do. I guess that's a benefit for at-home Moms, though. We can just leave it open, and type a few words at a time, as we have the chance! I've been thinking about compiling a weekly list of free or reasonably priced events around town to post somewhere. Most families want to know what to do with the kids on the weekends! Maybe this will drive me to action!

It turns out that all of those dudes were phonies. One's real name was Gerard, and there was some chick named Adrienne who was trying to pass herself off as Matt. The deception was running rampant--I had to shut it down before it got out of hand.
